Eraser AQ (glyphosate, labeled for aquatic use) is completely useless on SUBMERSED vegetation such as coontail. However, ERASER AQ and other similar brands of glyphosate (if appropriately labeled) are effective on several floating, and rooted-emergent plants (growing above water-surface) ; including cattails, waterhyacinth, lilies (sorta), primrose (sorta), etc. NAUTIQUE, AQUATHOL, REWARD and SONAR are effective treatments for coontail and several other submerged species - depending on the site and water-use-restriction variables that are present.
