What kind of growth rates should i expect with several types of forage(fatheads, golden shiners, bluegill)? I am going to stock 200 of the F1s in a 2 acre pond. Should I stock less of them or is 200 a good number?

I am in Alabama and am getting up to 2 lbs per year. Average is about 1.5. Started with fat heads, Coppernose BG, in April 2000 and stocked the F1's in June. Added threadfin, and Tilapia after first year. Also, feeding from automatic feeders and fertilize on regular basis. The land around the pond is very fertile and has natural occuring limestone
Have been catching some 5 to 5.5 pounders and the lake was shocked early April and they got some 6 pounders up.
Don't know where you are located because from what I have read it makes a difference.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Wayne, if my math is correct that is 3 lbs/yr. SOunds like your taking the right steps. Subsequent generations are usually slower than original stock, though, I'm sure you know this but once you start harvesting do not take out the orignial sotck fish these are the bass that can get over 15 lbs. BigBassMan, it depends on your goals, do you want a quality bass pond? If so I would sotck 50-75/acre instead of 100. Your going to love the F1's!
