Hello all!

First and foremost thanks for the great web site and the fantastic magazine!

Now to the question! I have been running my aeration 24/7 starting in April and my pond has never looked better and the fish are beautiful. The aeration system made a huge difference in my pond. Now we are coming into fall and the nights are cooling down. Do I want to continue running 24/7? At what point do you start shaving run time off? I would like to move the aeration out of the deep water and put it in the shallow end to keep ice off the pond during duck season will the aeration running in the cold weather adversely effect the pond temperatures and thus harm our fish?
My plan has been to cut a few hours a day off the run time and get it down to dusk to 8AM. But I am not sure about winter time aeration. I live in DE and although winters of recent years have been mild we can and do get bad winters.

Hey, cowboy.

First of all, a note to all to see the archive thread Bruce started on Aeration Simplified. It includes a ton of info and links including this one on Winter Aeration (catchy title, huh?) which I believe answers your question directly.
