I'm new to this forum so I thought I would introduce my self. I will mainly be lurking trying to take in all the info this site has to offer. Then use that info on the half acre pond I had dug last summer. Where's a pic of my pond.

The majority of it is 6 feet with the deepest being eight and a half feet. Couldn't go any deeper without breaking through the clay into gravel. I put 2000 FH and 300 BG in two weeks ago.

My goal is just to be able to walk out to my back yard and catch some nice size LBM and BG. Don't have to be trophy size. Just good fighters.

Howdy Tom, and welcome! Your pond pic is a finished vision of exactly the way I want mine to look after the grass is planted! And too, good approach to raising your new brood. We have a ton of BG that I keep fat with feed for the kids to fish (and they keep the LMB fat too) and size is what they all grow to. There is nothing like seeing a kid with a full stringer of wiggling BG that has never fished before in his/her life! Lurking below them all is 150 Channel Cats that are for my own personal dinner table...
