As many of you know I sold my farm and pond to Georgia Power late last year. One of the hardest decisions I ever made. The price was just to good. Boy I miss my pond. The plan was for Ga Power to get rid of the pond. But now I find out Georgia Power folks started fishing the pond and had never seen a pond with fish so plentiful and easy to catch. So now it has been decided to make the property a nature preserve (no hunting) and by next year the pond will be for handicapped children to fish with 50% of the shoreline to be wheelchair accessable.
I will never have to go to sleep again wondering if I did the right thing.
Bill

what a great story there Bill, if they (Georgia Power) exhibit further sensibilities maybe they'll consider you for a nice consultant's wage to manage the pond

Bill good to see you post. You need to be moving toward that next pond. BTW you think Ga. Power will let you manage it for them before they mess it up.

That should be a PB article. Maybe more utility companies would follow suit if they see another one doing such a good thing.

Hey Bill,
That is a FANTASTIC outcome for what I know was a gut wrenching decision. You should have great feeling for leaving something for others to enjoy for years!
I agree with Eric you need to find a new spot for your next adventure.

Bill,
What a great outcome! Just outstanding!
By the way, check out the TGG update for Oct., if you haven't done so. Some 9 inch fish with the overall average at 8.8 inches. A few Fx started showing up and I'm trapping regularly now to watch what happens next. The kids pond has become the center of attraction around here, hooking grandkids on fishing for what I hope is a lifetime. My thanks to you for your sage comments and encouragement on stocking this pond.

Bill, Congratulations! I can only imagine how hard your decision was to sell. However, this must make you feel great, knowing how your pond will be used. Thanks for sharing your story. You never know, there may something similar in store for our ponds & lakes one day.

Who says nice guys finish last?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Bruce funny you should say that, Grandbaby Ava will spend the weekend with us, Mom and Dad will see the "DAWGS" Saturday. So I have peanuts soaking for little Ava's favorite snack. Good southern gal
