I heard a joke the other day that I thought you guys would enjoy. It was told in a semi-serious fashion, but as the joke moves along you kind of figure a punch line is coming. Anyway...
I was down at [nearby lake or pond] fishing the other day and a conservation agent pulled up just as I was leaving. He walked up and asked me "What do you have in that 5 gallon bucket" (that was in my hand). I showed him the bucket, which had 15 small bass in it and said "some bass". He then asked me for my fishing license, and I replied that I didn't have one. He said You know, "I can write you three tickets for this." I said "really." He said "Yea, 15 bass is too many for a days catch, all of these bass are under the size limit, and another for not having a fishing license."
I replied "No, officer, you don't understand. These are my pet bass. I take them out of the aquarium at home and bring them down here to get some exercise. I dump them in the pond, wait about 5 minutes, then place the bucket in the water and tap on it three times with this stick and they all swim back in the bucket and we go home. Seriously." The conservation agent says "I have got to see this! Okay, throw the bass out into the pond." So, I did. A few minutes later the conservation agent said "that's enough time, now bring the bass back to the bucket." I replied, "What bass?"
