She's 18 inches and 4 lbs. 12 oz. Don't be mislead by how small she looks in relation to the hand. God was so impressed I grew a perch this big in my pond he personally came down and held it for me for the picture. :p

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

If you look real close there appears to be some "fishy" life lines on God's hands. CB1 - Since you only stocked large female perch in that pond this one must be the result of some divine fertilization.

Yep Bill, God said he would take care of my enterprise for me. I didn't know he had a sense of humor. He told me it's not nice to fool with mother nature.

Seriously, a few of these showing up now and then with the small crappies but not very often. Hope the bass keep them in check!

I think my first supplier who was not well known for his honesty (we know who he is) probably slipped me a few males. Or at least one plump male passed for a female.

Cecil,

You not only have the talent to grow em, but you can shrink them as well! Guess a couple males snuck in the batch eh. Just wondering if you are going to make your yearly pilgrimage to the sacred land of the Buckeyes? And if so is the space in the wagon all spoken for? Because I'm sure my 78 year old Mother will find her cane pole this year and will play havoc on my "pets". If you wouldn't mind, could you shoot me the phone # of your supplier. Then I wouldn't need to bother you. You gave it to me last year but it was lost.Best of luck in the new year......Mo out!

Hey Lynn,

I haven't forgotten you. I guess it's time to see if the pondowner that provides the truck wants more, and if he does will he let me use his truck. BTW the first supplier is not the one I got your perch from and my present. That was someone from several years ago. Our supplier Bill Lynch is a super guy to deal with! Very reasonable too!

What kind of growth did you get Lynn? What's the biggest so far? 11 to 12 inch range? Did they stay on pellets for you?

Wish I had a hauling truck and I could haul perc and just have everyone meet me at a central location. Maybe I'll put a used on a future wish list.

Well the biggest so far was a good 13" but they average 11 or 12. Caught the big one 2 days after Christmas. I thought they had all disappeared late in the summer. Could't catch one or see them at feeding time, then when the weather cooled they turned on. We caught them this fall on bluegill fry that I netted out of the leaves by the beach. Like I said my Mother is old school and thinks a few fish frys are in order. And Mom always knows best. My Grand daughter probably said it best when I asked her if she would be coming fishing with old Grandpa. She said "fish are food Grandpa, not friends"
