Gotta wonder what those things cost! I was lucky. We build and sell pressure chambers for curing tires. I got a trade in for $50. All I had to do was haul it away. 24' long, 5.5 feet in diameter. Made a heckuva crossing for my creek, but they're 5/8" thick and weigh 12,000 lbs stripped. Buddy with a lowboy semi trailer, the old Farmall 560 gruntin' and in she goes. Instant bridge.

rockytopper,

Thanks for that post. I'm going to contact them to get a price for a culvert for my creek crossing. This just might work.

Those culverts are a great idea. We used an old railroad flat car to cross a creek as a bridge. I have seen several lined up for bigger jobs. I wonder if the place rockytopper linked has them also. We did not have to use a culvert and did little dirt work to install. ewest

ML,
That culvert pipe in their picture is what I've got. I used two 36" and one 60" to cross my creek. All are 20' long. The 60" retails for $840, but I got a brand new "return" for $420. I bet the shipping would be more than that. Call your local county roads & drainage department and see if they have or know where to get used pipe.

I just bought a culvert from contech it was 9ft 6 inches round, it was then compressed into a D shape it is 20 ft long. it was delivered for 4000.00 that included shipping. i did have to pay for an excavator to take it off of the semi and install. that was an additional 600.00
