Unlike parts of Texas that have received more than enough rain from Rita, there are us not to far away who haven't received hardly any rain in over two months. Now we have had five days with temps over 100 degrees. Even the fish want to be caught to get in a frying pan to cool off. Sunday 105, Monday 103 and today it is supposed to be 101. And this is fall?
Looking for relief from the heat and some rain.

I don't want to even think about it. If we don't get some relief soon you can call me a dust boss instead of a pond boss.

Not only there, but here too. Upper 90's for many weeks, only about 3" of rain since May. I could almost hear a hissing sound as Rita dumped over 6" of rain here.
My original plan was to pump water into my pond from a gully that flows pretty good after even a light shower. That way I would not need a well. Looks like I will need to go to "plan B" and dig a well.
Good luck with the drought. If your fish survive another week or 2, they should get the benefit of the rainy season.
