My son caught a 5 lb LM a week ago, and ever since then he hasn't gotten a single bite. What causes this?

If we knew that, there would be no fish in the lake. We would have caught them all. We don't understand all the conditions that turn them on and off.

I had a pond that i thought didn't have any fish in it because we never caught any. When i drained the pond to do some dirt work, it was full of fish. Maybe i'm just a poor fisherman.
