I stocked my 3.5 acre pond with 250 hybrid largemouths (tiger) bass spring of last year. I've not supplemental fed them. How large can I expect them to be this spring.

I also stocked it with 9 inch carp the previous fall. How large should they be now.

The pond was a new pond.

When you say "no suplemental feeding" are you referring to pellet feed or is the only other thing in the pond the carp?

I've been told by a biologist the gorilla bass are the domesticated feed trained northern bass, the tiger bass are the hybrid using gorilla bass and florida bass brooders. Is that what you have?

We need more info as in the size of the bass and if there is any forage in the pond i.e. bluegills, shiners, fatheads etc, but carp, unless they are grass carp, are the last thing I would put into a pond.

If you stocked adequate forage fish, expect bass to grow to 12-14" the first year, then range from one to two and a half the next year. Funny thing, just because they have a different name doesn't mean they grow any faster than other bass. Largemouth bass growth is based on food supplies, competition, and temperature. Genetics play more of a role in how big a bass grows, and not as much as how fast they grow. Growth rates are influenced more by environment and food than genetics.

Well said Bob. We usually see 1.5 to 3.5 lb bass the following fall (this October for you) when performming first shock survey. As Bob said growth depends on several factors. This might help.

I put 1350 bluegill/bream in the fall before. By tiger bass, I mean the cross between the northern and Florida strain bass.
