Can you buy and will Florida bass live in Central Ohio? If so where can you get them?

Do a search of the forum for florida bass. I think you will find that survival decreases the further north you get. True FL probably do not do well much further north than Tennessee. Keep in mind that these bass are genetically programmed for winters where the water does not get much lower than 50F or even 60F. The warmer their winters the better they do. FL bass to grow large need to feed in 50+F water year round.
My experience with FL bass in OH is very poor survial if any under ice cover, esp winters with extended ice cover (late Dec to Mar) would really stress these fish. Why not stock good norther strain bass that is "programmed" to feed and stay healthy under the ice yet grows to 6 to 8 lbs? Many pondowners in the north do not know how to grow large bass even if they were FL bass. Even FL bass won't get big without the proper food items.
