Pretty freshly dead, if it was dead before the Eagle got it out of the pond. Dead fish don't bleed..... and it looks like it's not the first fish that was eaten at that spot! Eyes are bugged out and the tail looks like it is healing up from spawning.
Just think of it as one (and about 2.5#) less you have to worry about taking out this year.

I'm with Esshup, don't think that fish was dead, its to bloody to have been dead for very long.
The Bald Eagles do that to my bigger catfish, they cant fly off with them so they drag them out on the banks and consume what they can eat right there.
I have a game camera set up by my automatic feeder and have some pretty neat pictures of them doing it, coming out of the pond, dragging the fish right over the camera.
All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.

Sunset over the dock. If you zoom in you can see a GBH standing next to the feeder waiting for it to go off…when it did he hopped down and caught a CNBG. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/k2Z8Q2pL/IMG-8030.jpg)

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
