I just checked my calendar, and the next full moon is scheduled for April 12th. I've got three gravel beds in the new pond build and the deepest one is already holding males creating beds....guess those warming trends are going to give us a bonus spawn potentially?

Anyone else seeing spawning activity for bluegill this early?

I'm no expert but here's the information for spawning for some species that I found.
Hopefully one of the experts will chime in and correct me if the data I have is incorrect.

LMB start spawning when water temperatures are 58 to 61 degrees. During a full moon.

BG Spawn when water temperatures are 63 to 64 degrees. During a full moon.

Then RES. (Shell crackers)

2 Acre, Completed July 2022, CC,BG, Sept. 2022, LMB June 2023, GSF, YBH invasion in 2022. BG, CNBG, RES, 2025, TP seasonal.

When i bought the property the existing pond was full of green SF, it still is loaded with them. I added LMB and CC and have been feeding the green SF and they are getting pretty large for GSF. Im going to start fishing for them but i doubt i ever get rid of them short of draining the pond.
