When I did my 2 ponds, I remember buying Purina starter 400 in a green bag. It looked like BB's in size and it floated. I am helping a friend with his new pond. The only purina 400 I see is a grower not a starter. The food I used floated and fatheads and BG loved it! Am I just remembering this wrong? Any suggestions for a starter food that floats and you can throw that can be used for a couple of months until moving up in pellet size? Starter feed by purina all sink and I want something that floats.

I've been feeding Purina MVP and had very good results. It does appear that the smaller particles sink though.

Description from their site says it has Nine unique particle sizes ranging from 1/8" to 9/32" to feed a greater percentage of different sized fish in your pond

Floating and sinking diet
Designed to allow just the three smallest particles to be a 50% sink, the remaining particles float 100% to allow easier management and prevent overfeeding helping to maintain water quality

Expands the feed trough vertically to feed a greater percentage of different sized fish in your pond helping smaller fish grow
