I have attached short video of my current pond as I’m looking to expand it. Today has one 8’ hole with oxygen. Totally current size is 40’x65’. I have air pump in middle. Have about 24 sun fish and largemouth bass. Located in MN. Worth expanding? I’m thinking another 30’x40 section with another 8’ hole and oxygen. The goal is healthy fish that I can harvest in future. Thoughts if good idea?
Creating a second pond to manage a little differently - good idea!
Now that you have built and managed one small pond successfully, you should be able to use your lessons learned and either expand that pond, or build a second adjacent pond.
I suspect you will be much more efficient this time, compared to your first time around.

If you double it, you’ll have slightly more than 1/10-acre. With a short growing season, you’ll need to push the pond to grow enough fish, large enough to eat. Look at fish that grow quickly and provide good meat. While bluegills are good, look at catfish as well. Plus, when you increase the size, build it more like a hatchery pond, rectangular, with one end deeper than the other. And, install a drain pipe, if you can, if the site allows. That way, you can drain it and harvest your fish before ice-up.
