Hello again everyone!

Does anyone know of a relatively safe way to kill off these little critters before I stock my shrimp? It's too late for rotenone now, I'm afraid. Spec sheet says 2-4 weeks for breakdown and I don't think I want to chance it.

Any suggestions are welcome, not sure if they will affect the shrimp or not BUT.. no chances, right? \:D

Why would you want to get rid of the tadpoles? They eat plant material and are very good food source for the fish.

They should cohabitate together with the shrimp.

Do fish eat tadpoles? I've heard mixed opinions from pro's on this. I've always figured that if it moves, its a meal but I also hear that some things are unpalatable.

Here's an interesting read if you like.

Trout Eating Tadpoles

This proves that trout, at least, eat tadpoles.

Also, I've caught walleye on tadpoles and northen and muskie on adult frogs.

I've also caught fish using shiney metal. ;\)

I'd adhere to the theory that fish eat things that move.

Sorry, I was out of town....

Yeah I know the tadpoles will be back - after lengthy discussion with my local Fish and Game guru I've decided to leave 'em alone and see what happens. He was of the opinion that predation by the tadpoles should be slim to nil as they aren't bullfrogs, just plain old frogs.

I am stocking it with shrimp (for consumption) and I highly doubt they go after tadpoles. I imagine crawfish do though (but I don't like crawfish so we won't be stocking those!!!! ;\) ). The shrimp eat sinking catfish feed and apparently corn sileage works too!

Thanks for the replies
