Any of you pond guru"s out there ever put up a retaining wall inside a pond?? My pond is 3 acres and I have several problems with it including muddy murky water that I am in the process of clearing with gypsum, but now have a few extra dollars and would like to dump it in the pond. I have a real issue with water coming in from the shed on one end so fast is stirs and brings in mud, also has cut a 6 foot wide 15 foot gully into my yard and getting bigger with each rain. I dont want to put a bunch of rip rap around the end but have seen several with a wall made from railroad tie wall place inside and the dirt filled in to fill the void. I have also seen where people take postsof some kind and place them uprite to form a rather nice looking wall. I have a 175 foot area and I am trying to figure a way to hold down the expense. Anybody out there done anything like this and if so could you explain some details. I might add it is very dry and we have not had any rain in some time, temps in th 97 - 102 range here in the midwest so I need to do something befor the rain come if it ever does.

Mike, even if it's too late to help G.D., the cross reference might serve someone else in the future.

Mike
BTW - I have done that at LEAST 100 times myself, and will do so another 100 I'm certain! Oh well, I always remind myself it was the effort that counts!
