Not sure where to post this if it needs to be moved then go ahead. When the pond was dug back in 2010 the people who dug it hit five springs. So they just dug around them and got the pond to the right depth. Well the pond filled quick that year from all the rain that summer. Over the years the pond has ever gone down no more than I would say 2-3ft in a dry year. My question is should the pond be drained and we break open the springs? Would that help with keeping the water clear as far as settlement? What would that do as far as nutrients in the water for the fish? I dont think that would change anything. So let me know what you think. Thanks!!!

IIRC, there's no way to know if a spring will still have positive pressure once you have all the pond water above it at the desired depth.
So, any given spring might go both ways, in or out.
Of course, some situations exist where the outlet of the spring is high enough, or higher than your desired level. Or, the spring has enough pressure to stay positive and keep your pond full, although i think this is more the exception.
