I recently completed my pond,its 3/4 of an acre.I embanked the pond to keep rising water out,It is built out of clay.The pond will be 7to9 feet deep when completly filled,it is about waist deep now. I am planning to dissolve about 200lbs of alum in it to get it to clear up,I have ben reading that it will only be a short term clear up solution,any suggestions on long term clear up? Any suggestions on starting my fish population? I would like to have crappie as my domminant fish. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Texas covers a lot of geography to give thoughts about. Where are you? It really matters. Things that work in Amarillo don't happen the same way in the Houston area. Why do you believe your pond won't clear without chemicals and won't stay clear?
Regarding crappie, use the search feature here to get a lot of info about them. I believe you will find that you will have no problem with them becoming the dominant fish in a small pond. Be careful with what you wish for. You might get it.
