Ok not sure if this will work. Photo bucket and I are not getting along. I fished my new pond for about 30 mins and caught two fish. Two bass and a blue gill. I do see a lot of fry I the water around the edges. I can't tell what they are but appear to be black and many of them in different area. I know it's not much data, mouth I closed on the place at 3:30 and went fishing in my new pond at 4:00 and was back to work at 5:00. I also go pictures of the damn as I have some trees to clear up and am not sure if I should cut into two of them or not. I will post them once I figure out if I can get a gallery to work.

If the fish are really, really black they could be bullheads. But there are minnows and even fingerling BG can look black from the top in shallow water. So they could be about anything.

If you want to buy a minnow trap and throw it in shallow water with some crushed up bread or dog food or fish food for bait, you can see what some of your other small fish are. Post pictures and the experts can tell you what they are and the rest of us can try. grin

Look like bluegill? I will try the trap in some different locations. I did not put it where I seen the black fry. I out it where I didn't see any fry and in 20 mins had these guys. I have tried catching catfish with zero luck. Fishing on the bottoms with night crawlers. Just keep getting bluegill. Going to try some bluegill guts and see if that works.
