I just added my BG today and fed them tonight. I didn't see any come up to eat. I am guessing it takes Do I need to feed in several areas to start or just stay once a day or twice a day in the same spot and wait for them to find the food eventually?

1 1/4 acre L shaped pond, 6 to 9 ft deep. Finished 7/7/16. Stocked with LMB, HBG, BG, CNBG, RES, FHM. Can't wait to fish it. GO SAINTS!!!

Exciting time! How big were the BG and were they pellet trained?

It took a good two to three weeks for my feed to really start getting hit. Training takes time if they weren't trained already. Be patient. May need to crush what you have to a powder if they were small. I did that the first week.

Sooner or later, they should figure it out. However, I think the trick is to take the feed to them. They are scattered. Try walking around and tossing out small amounts of feed. Then concentrate on where you want them to feed.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

It for sure is fun times!!! They were kinda small except for the HBG. Ultimately I want to just feed in one spot so is it better for me to only feed in that spot right now and just wait for them to find the food or walk around and put a little bit all over?

I would stay close to the area you want to ultimately feed. AS DD1 says you can walk 10 15 feet to the left or right try to find them and get them coming your way. But I would stay in the general area. Feed at the same time every day. It will take 2 to 3 weeks and if you have some cold snaps they may not feed at all... Some may be feeding and you don't see it if they are that small there not getting it till it starts to sink or break off and get soggy.

My small BG started eating the day after I stocked them in September of 2015. They stayed in the same general area where I stocked them until they quit eating because of cold waters. I had to crush up the pellets in a food processor, as they could not get bigger pellets in their mouths. I discovered AM Grower 400 this spring, and those pellets are really small. I have been feeding the YOY BG with it since mid summer.
