My CCs have spawned. I now have hundreds of baby CCs in the pond, for the first time. Question: do I change my feed, feeding amounts, or other practices? I have a 1/5 acre pond, 9-10' deep. I have a tree in the pond, some concrete blocks and some rip rap.I feed Aquamax at a rate of 15 seconds twice a day.
My CC are now up to 20-22" long, I just have a few left. I am removing them as I can. I put 24 baby blue cats in this year, they are about 10-12' long now. I also put 12 HSBs in, I have not seen them since I put them in. We had 2- 10" rains in about a 2 week span, they may have swam out.
Also, I used to have zillions of minnows in the pond. After the big rains, I had tons of minnows die or swim out. I now have a lot of very small minnows (FMH) but very few adults. I do not know if the CCs, Blues or HSB got them, or they just died. I intend to put about 2# of FHM in this week, just to make sure I have sufficient food sources for everyone.
So a while back I wanted to remove the CCs without catching the small BCs that were just put in. I caught some minnows and used only the biggest to fish with. We caught nothing but BCs. Someone told me BCs would not eat shrimp, but CCs would. Put on shrimp, caught the small BCs again. I did remove some CCs with that method. Never caught any HSBs, so I assume they are gone. Any way to target CCs and not BCs? They are a year different in age class.
I do have a GBH that visits occasionally, so some may have went that way.
Thanks for any advise you can lend!

Up the size of the bait. A 22 inch CC can take a 6 inch shiner easily but a 10 inch BC should pretty much leave it a lone. How big are the BC now?
