I'm having a 2/3 acre circular pond being built. There are a solid wall of trees 60' - 80' tall around 3/4 of the perimeter and 20' approx from edge and would cost to much to remove farther back. Just wonder in the fall when all the leaves come down I know a lot will end up in the pond. Anyone know if the decaying leaves in the pond will affect the water quality/fish or is it not a big deal?

Most will tell you that having another source of organic material filling in your ponds every fall is not what you want, and I would agree. Having said that however, my ponds are ringed by mature trees that have been dumping leaves for 40+ years now, and while I'm positive they are shallower now than when they were first dug, I still haven't had any issues.
