Im not suggesting this but a friend was telling me about his grandpaw years ago building a floating platform with a wire top that he would place lost pigs on and pull it out in the pond. After a while the maggots would be rolling off into the water. I wonder if that would of been EPA approved?

No comment on the EPA thing but if you search this site you can see how to do something very similar with compost and black soldier fly larvae. The mature maggots climb up and out of the apparatus and drop into the water on their own. I think this is it. http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.ph...ite_id=1#import

I doubt that the EPA cares. A better idea would be to suspend road kill over the water. As the flies lay their eggs, maggots will fall into the water as fish food. I'd pay attention to the prevailing wind direction.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
