Hello all. Have a 7acre sand pit in nebraska with max depth of 24ft. Have many smaller bass taking over and gills mainly for forage to the bass, crappie, and catfish. I never have seen actual minnows. Looking to stock 6in or bigger perch and wondering what a guy can put in for bait fish to help. No shad currently that i am aware of. Advice? Thanks

I'm not sure there's anything that won't be immediately eaten by all of the smaller fish.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I would work on creating a refuge for the minnows. Large pile of trees with tight branches and weed beds. Give the minnows a place to hide and stay safe. Then right close by give them places to bread and multiply.
I have read that 15% of a pond needs to be given for this to help with its own self sustainability.
