please advise my pond is now 3 years old. I stock it with FH and OCNBG and Red Ear. I did not notice and green sun fish last year but this year we are catching a lot of them. My goal was to raise large CNBG are these going to cause a lot of issues and if so what should I do to get rid of them. I do not have any predator fish in the pond. Well Grandson did put in 5 LMB that he caught from a near by lake.

Bobby:

To achieve your goal, I would stock LMB at the rate of 100 per surface acre and remove any LMB that are over 15" long, including that 5# one. The smaller LMB will eat the small CNBG & small GSF and what specimens survive will have enough food in the pond to grow large.

Do you have a feeding program in place on the pond?

Even if you don't stock bass your 5 bass will soon be many.

Goofing off is a slang term for engaging in recreation or an idle pastime while obligations of work or society are neglected........... Wikipedia

Oops, I read that as a 5 pound bass and not 5 individual bass.

What size were they when he put them in there? If you could, I'd go get another 20 - 30 to stock in the pond, even if they are fingerlings.
