Sorry I posted the safety of chemicals on the top of the forum not the top of the page.Lets start with Sonar.Fluridone:Since plants can take up sonar from the sedements shrubs or desirable trees may be damaged.Treated water should not be used for irragation for 7to30 days.It shoud not be used within a quarter mile from a potable water sorce thats just a start gotta go for now DOC

Doc: my vote was to lay the last thread to rest, not to open a whole new can of worms.
Attempting to reproduce any product's EPA specimen label with abbreviated "Cliff Notes" isn't very efficient, nor in the interest of fully informing prospective users.
For instance, SONAR is actually labeled for use in potable water reservoirs. However, applications of the product should not be made "within 1/4-mile of a functioning potable water INTAKE" (to prevent intake of high concentrations of product - as a precaution).
If you're going to rephrase product label info, state it accurately.
Product labels are available at the respective manufacturers' websites and should be read first-hand (pre-purchase) by anyone who is considering a DIY application. If a prospective user has a specific question or safety-concern regarding a product and its use, it may be more appropriate to address such issues with bullet-responses rather than a shotgun approach.

I was hoping that you could get past the personal slams and stick to getting the info posted I didn't say that that was all the info I just posted what I had time for if you want to add to the info good I want to read all you have along with anyone else.But if you could reframe from correcting a post and just adding the info that was left out we might even help some that need it. Doc: I'm not trying to slam anyone. I'm only demonstrating the problems associated with anyone (myself included) trying to rephrase or apply personal interpretations to product labels. To do so risks a minor oversight that may cause misperceptions or have serious implications.
I take the defense of my industry and profession very seriously, as I'm sure you do. Accordingly, I will always express my opinion when it differs with others - but only when I have factual or scientific evidence for that difference. I do not intend my comments to be offensive slams. You're perfectly welcome to disagree with me. If so, I would welcome hearing your reason.

Now I'll correct my own post (and omission). SONAR is not only labeled for use in potable water sources, but may also be applied at rates UP TO 20 ppb immediately adjacent to functioning potable water intakes.
Not that many folks on this board are dealing with potable water; but simply to demonstrate the importance of fully reviewing any pesticide label BEFORE its use. KD

KD - About one third of the ponds in NW Ohio are potable water sources. Lots of sulfur wells in this area. There may possibly be more potable water source users/readers than you think.

Thats correct Bill.In Indiana there is alot of private pond owners that draw their water from wells.If you treat a water res.you have to have a permit from the state and plans sent in with the location of exactly where and when you will be treating that body of water.Then you sit and wait to see if they ok the permit.Most of the water res,are monitored so close that a commercial applicator don't even think about it.When I apply sonar Even though there is no limitations on swimming I post a 24 hr,off limit sign to be safe.
