Does it do any good to fertilize when water temps are cool (south Texas) or should I just wait till spring after clearing out weeds and algae?

Don't fertilize if you have weeds, or if water temps are below 60 degrees. If aquatic plants are present, identify them, then decide what to do. We'll be glad to help. Let me know what plants you have, how much area they cover, how large your pond is, and water temperature.

Just gettin back Bob. Tank is approx 2 acres and has chara and filimentious algae. I treated about one fourth of it last weekend and will treat more in a couple of weeks. I used Cutrine Plus liquid and some granules in deeper area. I was mainly wondering if I should just clear weeds and algae now, then wait for water temps to come up. Thanks for your help.

Eliminate excess vegetation, and your pond may fertilize itself. Once the plants are dead, and decayed, nutrients are released, available for plankton uptake. You might need to nudge your pond with fertilizer, but wait until temps rise into the 60's, then start with a small dose of fertilizer, and see what happens.
