I've got a question for the chemists among us. My recently finished (last fall) 1.8 acre pond regularly tests 8.2-8.5 PH at around 7:30 A.M. CST. Today I though I'd check the 2 separate tiles that come in and my just finished forage pond (catches most of the runoff) to see if any certain supply source was the problem. All 3 sources tested at 7.2 PH within minutes of checking the main pond. How is this possible?

My inflow also measures a lower pH. Have you put limestone in your pond? Its presence is one reason why pond water could have a higher pH than inlet water.
How much swing do you see in pond pH over 24 hrs?
