After some big rains last weekend, I was left wondering if the 40 pounds of tilapia I added on Friday was still in the pond. Considering grass carp and supplementing the LMB gene pool with some camelot bell fish (2-3 lb). Wondering if anyone has screened their overflow and how you went about it. I've thought about turning this into a casting deck as well, but I want to do the screening either way. In a heavy rain the water flows in all sides and over the top some as well. I have seen small catfish in the bottom of the drain after a storm, but I'm sure other fish make the trip as well.

Phil, you will always get some small fish caught in the current. However, most fish try to go upstream in a flood.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done.

Phil, you will always get some small fish caught in the current. However, most fish try to go upstream in a flood. Thanks Dave- For some reason I had in my head that grass carp seek current. I thought this might impact my ability to secure a permit for the GC

Hey, I missed the grass carp angle. They DO try to go downstream.
