I would not mind sharing my boat house with the Barn Sparrows if they were not so messy. Their poop stains everything it touches. It's not like they don't have anywhere else to go.
I bought one of those plastic owl's and I think they get a laugh out of it.
Any help on getting them to look elsewhere?

I'm assuming you mean sparrows.

We got a barn cat and an extension ladder. The cat quickly learned how to climb it when we placed the top of it below a nest. We just rotate the ladder around the barn once or twice a week. No more sparrow nests. That was a smart cat.

I'm no bird expert but if they build mud and grass nests (as opposed to using only grass) they are likely barn swallows. My dad always hated them in the barn because of the mess they made.
