Picked up a new customer this week and asked them to check the board on a topic I would like to get some input. The lake community has a three acre lake with a high fecal rate rather shallow 6to8feet in some areas what benifits will bottom diffused aeration bring. This problem was the result of high rate of rain this year and area is mostly bluestone, hardpan and clay also lake is on the down side of many houses with old systems grouped to close together

thanks Scott

Scott,
Not too many studies exsist on the effect aeration has on Fecals and Total Fecals, but through experience (Wet N Wild) in Orlando and a lakefront swimming area in Maryland, we have experienced fecal numbers to drop below detectable levels.

The Maryland swim area runs at night. During the day the lifeguards take the CoActive AirStations that are connected to BottomLine Tubing and move them out of the swim area. At closing they replace them.

Wet N Wild we aerate the entire lake where they have the Knee Ski area.
