Sorry to bother everyone again, i live in the chicago area and want to build a couple acre pond does anyone have a number to someone that I can call for information and prices for the pond

I would try the yellow pages under excavating. Find someone that has experience building ponds and ask for references. Not all excavators do ponds and not all are good at it. Be aware that the estimates may be all over the board and paying more is not always better. At least that has been my experience and what I have seen of others.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Catfish, I just went through the same thing. Look out on the internet for a web site. Most small towns have basic information listed, you'll find dozer men there. Once you get a contact, talk to them. You'll be suprised at the information they'll share. Expect to get FREE : watershed analysis, soil samples, and a personal meet and greet session. Walk the place over, let them do the review and come back with options for you. Make sure your dozer man has years of experience, you'll be suprised at the problems you land can pose for them. ASK QUESTIONS !

I would call Mike Robinson with Keystone Hatcheries. He works with many ponds in the Chicago area and can probably recommend someone.
