Why release it? It's probably close to the end of it's lifespan anyway.


If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I probably would have released it as well. Too ugly to mount and probably wouldn't taste good. Might as well let it live out its life. Any idea on how old a fish like that must be?

Kind of a shame you have to kill a fish to make it count as a record.

Hard to say but it sure looks like a pellet fed fish if I didn't know better.

Probably no less than 10 to 12 years of age.

I'm confident I can grow a rainbow to 20 lbs. in my trout pond if I wanted to. But 28 lbs. I'm not so sure.
