Steep dam ?

This is a newer dam on a property I recently purchased. I am concerned about the steepness of the dam. I estimate this to be about a 1.5 to 1 ratio (3:2).

The lake will be about 3/4 acre when full.
The top of the dam is about 6-7 feet wide.

I see it until I open the thread. Then I get Image not available.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Are you worried about it holding water or about maintenance (grass cutting)? My damn is about that steepness (from eyeballing the picture) even though I would estimate mine at 2 or 2.5 to 1. I have no issues with leaks and have to cut the grass with the brush hog going down the dam in the lowest gear but you have to have a little flat room at the bottom to turn.

It is holding water at this point, with about another 3 feet to rise. My main concern is about whether it will fail (collapse or give-way during a major rain). We do have an overflow path, so it shouldn't get topped.
