When younger I have heard of people going out in flood backwaters and getting carp with hay hooks and pichforks. Of course being an illegal activity I would never participate in such and this is only heresay. But your method looks similar and maybe similar fun. We rednecks can have strange definitions of fun.

In Indiana it's legal to spear Dogfish, Gar, Carp and suckers. Easiest with a good strong fish spear and at night. Fun fun fun and real good for the garden.


Do nature a favor, spay/neuter your pets and any weird friends or relatives.

Also legal in MO for many non-game species like carp. I'd never illegally but safely remove an unwanted pest from my private property, would I?
