Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations On a roll!

Recent warming trend in Lincoln has me thinking Spring. Also realized I've gone 89 consecutive days accident free at the farm, including zero incidents of:

- Spilling newly filled 5 gallon bucket of Aqua Max 500 into 4' high Indian grass

- Forgetting to attach lid on 5 gallon bucket of Aqua Max to have content consumed by coons and possums sitting on dock

- Forgetting to attach lid on Texas Hunter feeder few hours before a 2" rain

- Dropping brand new out of package stainless steel surgical grade hemostats off end of dock trying to release BG

- Watching brand new temperature probe slowly sink into the depths of pond forgetting to attach lanyard to wrist

- Dropping new IPhone 5S off end of dock while taking horrible fuzzy photo way too close up of BRES hybrid to show to Condello

- Watching minnow trap slowly sink into the depths of pond after kicking it off end of dock

- Leaving 3 foot scratches along BOTH sides of Tundra and shredding power steering fluid hose driving through Sumac for absolutely no sensible reason at all

- High centering pull behind mower on angry red ant mound

- Wrapping old, rusty barbed wire hiding in tall grass around blades of same pull behind mower with angry ants still on mower

- Almost burning 640 acres of adjoining prairie grass and numerous acreage homes/outbuildings when spark from lump charcoal burn takes a ride on 45 MPH gust

Yep, definitely on a roll, boys!

Need me to visit and cure that lil sanity/safety issue for you???

TJ, that's pretty impressive and I need to take lessons from you. As usual, I'm on about day 3. You've given me something to shoot for.

Well, come to think about it, this is day 1.

TJ, I started laughing until I realized I could easily check half of those things off my "I've done that too" list.

TJ, just think of all the cover you're putting in the pond around your dock! The fish will love it.

The first thing I did when I got my new S4 phone was order a lifeproof case for it. I was VERY careful the first few months until the case came in.

Burning down Lancaster county was the only real brush with catastrophe. Don't ever plan a charcoal burn on days when gusts exceed 40-50 MPH and surrounded by tinder dry prairie grass. Thankfully I had 4 5Gal buckets of water on hand, or I'd have lost everything...same with my neighbors. I needed every last drop, too.

I demonstrated a serious lack of sound judgement...should have reviewed the forecast more carefully that winds were supposed to TRIPLE by afternoon. Sorta funny to talk about now, but not entirely. Too fresh.
