I've heard a grass carp will put a steelhead to shame. Do you agree?
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Hooking a grass carp is like roping a freight train.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Took me a while to get the grass carp to hit a fly. What a fight! The bluegill are huge and the channel cats were smashing flies about 6 weeks ago.  Grass carp on the fly is a hoot - wait until you hook a 14+ pounder. It will take you into the backing and raise the hair on the back of your neck! Good job!

The forums have been a HUGE help with the pond. The pond is part of a homeowners' association but I'm one of the default managers. I'm about to add some artificial structure because the pond is basically a bowl. I have been feeding the fish Gamefish Chow for more than a year. Some of the LMB are starting to eat it now, too, which is encouraging.
The grass carp eat the Gamefish Chow so I made a fly out of a piece of brown foam that looked similar to a pellet. When the carp are eating small plants off the top, I use the fly and they've taken it twice. The first carp broke off after about 30 minutes. The carp shown took about 45 minutes to get in. I don't use the pellet fly when they're actively feeding on the Gamefish Chow, just when they're feeding on the top. I haven't hooked a steelhead before but the grass carp is one of the strongest fish I've ever fought.
I sight fish for the channel cats. They crush large Wooly Buggers.
