Just started feeding my new CC's I put in. Only problem they didn't come up, but about 8 CC ranging from 16-24in have been feeding. The CC's I stocked were 12in and its been about one week and still no sign. Should I just wait longer?

By the way the Bluegill are hitting the feed hard until the CC get there and then they scatter. They are even having a hard time swallowing the large feed after about the 2nd or 3rd try they get it down. Should I get smaller feed for them?

What size should I start harvesting the big catfish? I feel they are preying on the feeding bluegill.

Thanks guys!
So far since on this forum my pond has had 75% of the cattails removed. Keeping the other for fish cover. I have just started a fountain for aeration. I have also added CC and removed a couple crappie wink Haven't seen or caught one of those for 3 weeks!

Yeah, one week isn't very long. Give em' some more time. If it were me, and I wanted some larger BG, I would feed something they could eat....are they spitting it out because it's too big, or because they're not used to feeding? I've seen BG reject pellets because they were too hard, and the fish weren't accustomed to them. For BG, I would aim for a pellet the approx. sixe of the fish's eye, or a tad smaller.
Also, you might try hydrating (softening) the feed and see how that works.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.
