I have three Stren feeders (from Greg Grimes). Recently two of them have had some "critter" get inside the timer box and chew the wires thus disabling the feeders. I assume its rats since the only access to the wires is through a hole about the size of a quarter.
Has anyone else had problems with this?

Good one Ric! Frank I just spoke with the manufacturer. Was the black side box open? They said "coons" can open them if the wingnut is not tight. As I mentioned in a response I have not had one single client report this problem. The timer repleacement would have to be purchased but if not too much damage you can match colors on the wires and repair yourselve. I guess you might want to silicone the bottom hole is that is the problem. The new style has the timer mounted inside the hopper. Let me know if you need further help. ANyone else feel free to chime in with help.

It's coons. I used a self tapping screw, one-quarter inch head for nut driver, and quit using the wing nut. Start a new hole. No more problems.

The black box on the side was not opened and the wing nut was tight.
