Anyone see any issues with stocking 10 lbs fhm in a new pond while simultaneously stocking The package of 250k gsh fry from Anderson minnow
For specifics , 1/3 acre pond, Ave depth 5 foot, with good shallow and deep cover
And yes I know I could stock fewer of each, but I was wondering more about predation?

More specifically, I know gsh will eat fhm fry, but is the opposite true?

I'd go for it.
I suppose there could be an ever so slight chance of the fatheads eating on the GSH fry, but I doubt it.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

I think you have to worry more about water bugs and other things eating them before the FHM do.
I have thought about ordering some of them my self and grow them out a little in a large tank or swimming pool, then move them when a little larger.
Thanks

I did just this exact thing last year. I now have a healthy stock of golden shiners. they hopefully will reproduce this spring..I have not seen any FHM since the introduction of the bass and CNBG.

As long as you have a good bloom going in the pond I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
