My lake is 130 miles north of Houston. When is it too late to fertilize.

If you already have problematic vegetation that has reached the surface of your lake, then it's probably too late. However, I have started fertilizing lakes in Central Texas as late as early June with good success. If you don't have a vegetation problem, then you will likely be fine starting now. Just get an earlier start next year.
