Had an older gas grill that I just replaced the burner on. After using it twice I came out to find the flexible tubing that connects the burner to the gas (though the control knobs) all chewed up and all over the deck. Being a slow learner I buy another replacement burning and installed it. Only to find the same thing a couple of days later after using it once. So I have two brand new burners used a total of 3 times and no way to connect them. After installing the second one I turned on motion detection on my surveillance camera but did not see what got to the tubing. I thinking squirrels but not sure. Big question is how to work around this? Any way to just purchase the tubing with buying the burner? Of course I would have to protect it in some way. Or better yet finding a more solid tube that maybe wouldn't attract what ever is eating it.

Pretty sure squirrels. same thing just happened to me, I wonder if they make a flexible Stainless line? Sounds like a pile of peanuts and a pellet gun is in order.

Ditto on the squirrels. Can you enclose under the BBQ with chicken wire or hardware cloth?

Put a rat trap baited with peanut butter under the BBQ where they can get to it. If it doesn't kill them, it'll give them a sore nose! Wrap some cotton string around the trigger and tie it tight. Mash the peanut butter into the string. They might be able to get the peanut butter off of the metal trigger without setting off the trap, but if they try to chew the string it'll trip the trap.

Have to find some time to rig this up. trying to finish some tiling of the master shower today but that is going real slow.

You can get stainless braided hose for this. Had a mouse chew thru the hose on my Buddy propane heater. That thing works really good!, but need a new hose. I have about 20 or so feet of braided left over from another project. Fittings should not be a problem.

Last Monday I went up to the property. Walked by the generator and a hole was chewed thru the plastic gas tank. I am thinking WTF Chipmunks or Squirrels, both are quite prolific in the area, and not enough predators. I need to get a pet Bobcat or two
It's a thermoplastic so I can weld a patch over.
