Just wondering if anyone knows whether grass carp will eat grass clippings that fall into pond while mowing?

I've certainly seen them do this. At my in-laws' house they start cruising the shoreline when they hear the lawnmowers crank up, and they eat grass clippings like a catfish gobbles feed at the surface.
