Anyone ever get those" little itchy chigger" like bumps when getting around cattails? I hate those worse than cattails.

No -- but we don't have many cattails.


Side story -- I grew up going to Boy Scout camp on Lake Murval outside Carthage, Texas. I swear that was the chigger capital of the world. We had some kids that had to go home early in the week because they couldn't handle the itch. Each troop was issued a coffee can full of sulfur powder at the beginning of the week. There was an old sock full of sulfur and you'd use it to powder your legs with the stinky yellow substance!

Clayton...The worst case of chiggers I ever had came from my cousins ranch in Mineral Wells TX. That is why I feel sorry for my dogs when the scoot across the carpeting or the yard with their back legs up by their ears and pulling as fast as they can with their front legs. I gotta laugh but my wife can't stand it.

You're right esshup! I forgot to mention that is what I felt like doing. Night crawlers are the only worms around here....(I hope).

Maybe the parasites that cause "Duck Itch" AKA "Swimmer's Itch?"Do they leave red welts? I do know that the parasites will attach to aquatic vegetation although their life span in the form that tries to burrow into your skin is quite short.
