Just to get you started, and others with more experience using and purchasing tags will weigh in soon I'm sure, but you can find tags and techniques at www.fishtagger.com.

I got my package from Greg Grimes. It works great and the numbered tags are really cool as you can tag write down weight and length and put a tag number down with that fish. He has the kit at

Greg Grimes at Lake Work is THE place to get them. He also has a video there on how to properly tag bass and other fish.

I suggest tagging with a different color each year or say a different color tag on some new stocked fish. Makes it easy to weigh a fish a year later versus re-weighing the same fish tagged that year. The Floy tags come in about 12 colors.

Great tool to track the growth and aging of fish in one's pond.

Speak to Greg...he's good!

Got mine from Greg too. He has all the items for pond management, and has been a huge help to me.

I also got my "tagging kit" from Lakework. The price there was much better than any other tagging system you could find (on the internet) that had numbered tags.

The tagging gun very easy and quick to use so you can get the fish back in the water fast.

Thanks guys if only I made more than $11 profit per tag kit I could retire. We sell about 2 a week this time of year. Buy in mass quantities to pass the savings on. I just like clients to do the right thing is this is one easy mgmt tool. Here is direct length.

Greg, what's the smallest fish you feel comfortable tagging with the floy tags without having adverse affects?

I have tagged 5 inch bluegill and 8 inch bass. ANy smaller and either going to hurt the fish or just not hold up. Good question.

Greg,

What do you suggest to people once they've finished the tags numbered 001-100 that come with the kit? I see replacement tags but they seem to have the same numbers.

Oh that is poor wording on that being the number. we get in lots of different numbers. Just put in notes you need diff numbers or differnet color as DavidB suggested. Might be best to call office and see what we have in inventory to choose from. Thanks
