With 18 apple trees to plant this weekend and was getting a head start on them (or so I thought) by digging the holes over lunch yesterday. Well after the third hole I looked down and notice this sticking out of my front tractor tire.

That deer is on the hit list for this fall no matter what his rack looks like

Slime time.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Never seen that before! Nothing worse than a flat just when you get started work.

Thanks guys, it always has to happen at the beginning of the day. Had to walk back the the barn to get tools to remove the tire and take it to town to be fixed. Fortunately I have a front end loader on the tractor and it worked to raise the front end so no jack needed to remove the tire. Only a 4 hour detour. Talking with the local FS I was one of four that had a shed antler in a tire that day.

My luck is really bad this year. I have had the tractor for 4 years and never a flat. Now last night after work I was tilling up my corn and milo plots. Finished tilling the last plot and as I was driving out of it I put an shed antler into the right front tire. The shed broke off in the tire and looks like it will leave a 3/8 to 1/2 inch hole. It was getting dark so I have gone and looked for the rest of the shed yet but will later today when I plant that plot.

Hard to use the planter with only 3 tires so heading to town to now to get this one fix. Now both front tires will have boots in them.

Wow - you must really be holding deer in your place. Sounds like you have a shed mecca. Sorry about your bad luck. My flats are usually from honey locust thorns dropped over the fence from neigbor's trees.
