Hi folks, I originally joined this forum a couple of years ago when first thinking about a pond and just today offered my first posting. I know nothing about ponds except that I like them. I also like fish and same thing there too. My new pond is small, built last September, and gets very little run off so will take a long time to fill and will rarely use the overflow pipe. I think it will be 12 feet deep when full. I just don't have many spots to put a pond here on my place, however I would LOVE to have a large pond.
I want to have fish, a dock, and spring peepers. I doubt I will get any waterfowl to hang out but that would be nice too.
I'm also thinking about a small yard pond up by my house with a liner and rocks, etc. Undecided about whether I would want a pump or not. Gonna have to dig this one by hand I think.
In my professional life I'm a nurse, and in my personal life I'm a widow that is uninformed about many things important to living out here in the county but I'm not afraid to try things or to learn, so please excuse my less than insightful questions when I ask them.
