Pond Boss Forums POND CONSTRUCTION Renovating a Pond or Lake? recent pond cleanout/rebuilds

This is one of many ponds rebuilt during the drought this year. Will post more pics as time allows of other ponds. Pushed all the mud out the back mixing it with dust then back to the dam its DRY when you can do this with this much mud in a pond. raised the dam height 7 ft. Total depth at completion was 26 ft and it went from a 1/2 acre pond to pushing 2 acres in surface area. Pond had no drain pipe so added a 12" c-900 drain pipe I had laying around to keep cost down. Also dug up a few rocks during construction to put back in the pond. This pond could have easily pushed 5 + acres up the draw with a few more days work but not bad for a stock pond. I just hated to quit in material that was that good.

Heres another one I thought turned out good. We widened the driveway with 16 ft of 30" concrete pipe and dug it down to 12 ft deep any deeper in this area and usually you find sand I expected the same here since the bottom never firmed up. It had 6 ft of mud in it which was dry enough to smooth out in just a few days which is not normal.

Gotta throw this picture in. We rebuilt this dam 15 years or so ago it has a rock spillway and what I'd call a strong spring feeding it in this drought.We had just installed the septic system and graded the yard on this long awaited new home. I wouldnt mind livin here its gonna be real pretty when it greens up
